Broda Aspire Pediatric Glider Chair (100-P)
What matters in a chair for ADHD
Room to move while seated
Your daughter may want to keep moving even when she has to stay put. A glider gives that urge somewhere to go. The seat travels a short, smooth path back and forth while the base stays in place, so she can rock through homework or a bedtime story without leaving the chair. Broda designs the motion to be quiet and even, a good fit for a shared classroom or a busy kitchen.
A lock for still moments
Some parts of the day go better with the chair holding still, such as meals or a timed test. On both Broda gliders, an adult can switch the gliding on or off with a caregiver lock. The adult-size Tranquille adds an automatic lock that stops the motion while someone is sitting down or getting up, which keeps the chair still at the moments a person is least steady.
Sized for now and later
A chair built for an adult will swallow a seven-year-old. Broda makes the Aspire for children, with seat widths of 12, 14 or 16 inches and seat heights low enough for small feet to reach the floor. When your daughter outgrows it, the Tranquille takes over with 18 or 20 inch seats. Check the fit at the start of each school year, since growth spurts change hip width and leg length.

Broda Aspire Pediatric Glider Chair (100-P)
From $1,426.71MSRP
Broda's child-size glider, with seats 12 to 16 inches wide and a 200 lb limit. An adult can lock the gliding off for meals or tests, and rear wheels let the empty chair roll to wherever homework happens.
The adult model, for teens and grown-ups with ADHD who still like to rock while they read, work or unwind. It locks itself as the person sits or rises, and it is rated to 250 lb on 18 or 20 inch seats.
Start with an occupational therapist, who is likely to know how your daughter handles sensory input and how she sits for schoolwork. Bring three measurements to that visit: hip width, thigh length from the back of the hip to the knee, and the height from the floor to the back of the knee. Her feet should rest flat with the glider locked. A therapist or ATP (assistive technology professional) can watch a trial, judge whether the motion suits her day, and recheck the size as she grows.
Call or send a quote request. Tell us the person's height, weight and diagnosis, and where the chair will be used.
Confirm the model with their therapist or ATP. We send a written quote that lists the exact model, size and options.
We order direct from Broda. The chair ships to any US address. In Arizona, our own crew can deliver it, set it up and fit it.
Paying for the chair
Many families pay privately. Insurance or a public program may help when a doctor, therapist or ATP documents why the person needs the chair. Whether it is covered depends on the plan. Our written quote lists the exact model and options, so it can go straight into that paperwork. Facilities, care organizations and multi-unit buyers can ask us about partner pricing.
Questions families ask about ADHD
Do rocking chairs help kids with ADHD?
A glider gives a restless child a way to move without leaving the seat. Whether that suits your child is something to try and watch over a few weeks. It is a piece of furniture, and it does not replace the plan you have with your child's doctor or school team. An occupational therapist can observe a trial and share what they see.
Can you stop a glider chair from rocking?
Yes. Both Broda gliders have a caregiver lock that turns the gliding on or off. The Tranquille, the adult model, also locks the motion by itself while someone is sitting down or standing up. That gives you a still chair for meals or quiet work and a moving one for breaks.
What size glider chair does my child need?
Measure your child seated: hip width, thigh length and floor-to-knee height. The Aspire comes in 12, 14 or 16 inch seat widths, with seat heights of 10 to 14 inches and a 200 lb limit. Older teens and adults generally fit the Tranquille, which has 18 or 20 inch seats. A therapist can confirm the match.
Can a glider chair be used in a classroom?
Yes. Broda designs its gliders for schools and therapy rooms as well as homes. The frame is powder-coated steel, the cushions resist fluids and wipe clean, and rear wheels let staff move an empty chair. Bring the school's occupational therapist into the decision, since they will see how it works during lessons.
This guide is general product information, not medical advice. Chair features are described as Broda designs them. Choose seating together with the person's doctor, therapist or ATP.
Call with the person's diagnosis, height and weight, and where they will sit most of the day. We will tell you which Broda chairs fit and send a written quote.
